Are You a Guy Getting Ready for Prom?

Can you believe the school year passed so quickly? You've probably even already had spring break by this point. And after Easter is over, you'll be planning to take your final exams. That part of your end-of-the-school-year plans is probably not as enjoyable as getting ready for prom. From arranging for a tux rental to planning a fun post-dance activity, here are some ideas that might help you to plan a truly fun and memorable prom event with your date and your friends.

Tux Rentals

Of course, you could buy a tuxedo, but the might not be the best idea in the world. Consider the fact that you are probably still growing. If you buy a tuxedo, it might look great on you this year. However, if you pull it out to wear it for another occasion in the future, maybe even next year's prom event, the tux might not be long enough.

With that in mind, consider renting your tuxedo. When you enter the rental facility, the salesperson might show you the most expensive style available. If you can afford that, go for it. However, don't be shy about asking for a tux that is less expensive to rent. You'll probably find that it is similar to the expensive one you might have rented.

Think of going to the tux rental store with some of your buddies. For example, if you are going to prom with other guys and their dates, it might be fun for you to rent your tuxedos together at the same time. You could do something jazzy like selecting the same pattern for your bowtie and your cummerbund. Or, find out the color of the dress your dates are wearing and choose the same color, or a complementary one, for the accent pieces of your rented tux.

Contact a business like Formal Affairs for more information about tux rentals.

After the Dance

Of course, you and anybody who is going with you on prom night will probably want to start off at the dance your school has planned for you. However, part of the fun of the night could be the event you and your friends plan for after the dance.

For example, does anybody in your group have a house with a swimming pool? If so, wouldn't it be fun to have a night swim with your friends? The parents, whether your own or somebody else's, will probably want to help you set things up. For example, your hosts might be happy to do a barbecue meal or a dessert bar for you. Remind everybody to bring casual clothes to change into.
