Ensure That Your Photographer Gets These Shots Of Your Bridesmaids And Their Robes

If you're planning a nice gift to give your bridesmaids early on the day of your wedding, embroidered robes might be an option that you choose. Everyone loves a comfortable robe, and on the day of your wedding, this garment can come in handy as each of the girls gets ready for the big day. Given the special nature of this gift, it's nice to ensure that your wedding photographer is present to snap a series of photos of the bridesmaids and their robes. While there's nothing wrong with letting the photographer shoot what he or she wants, it's often advantageous if you make specific photo requests. Here are some ideas.
Unwrapping The Robes
It's fun to present the bridesmaids with their gifts at the same time. For example, you might have all of the robes boxed and wrapped, and sit your girls down and hand each of them a box. This is an exciting time, so making sure that your wedding photographer is ready to shoot the reactions as your bridesmaids open the boxes will be important. He or she will likely capture images of smiling, laughing, and perhaps the odd jump and scream as a bridesmaid rises out of her chair to embrace you.
Posing In A Row
One shot that you'll definitely want to request is a shot of all of your bridesmaids posing together in a row. You may even want a few shots of this nature — for example, one taken from the front, and another taken from the back, perhaps with your bridesmaids looking over their shoulders at the photographer. The back angle is especially appropriate if you've had something embroidered on the back of the robes, such as "Bridesmaid" or perhaps even the last name of each of the girls, much like how a sports jersey often has the player's name across the shoulders.
Candid Images
In addition to the shot list that you provide your photographer, encourage him or her to take candid shots as your bridesmaid's lounge in their new robes. A funny shot could be a bridesmaid sitting in her robe and drinking a glass of champagne, while another shot of a bridesmaid in her robe while she talks on the phone to make some last-minute arrangements regarding the wedding can also be poignant. Often, candid shots can have more appeal than their posed counterparts, so having a number of candid images from this part of your wedding day will be important.
