If you're going to go on a shopping spree and looking for new accessories and clothing for your dog, read on; you'll find plenty of pet-related shopping tips below.
1. Get your pet a waterproof collar in a color that complements their fur and their leash
Every dog needs a few collars in their "wardrobe." Whilst they are primarily a practical accessory, they can also be used to make your dog look even more adorable than they already do. Buying your pet a collar in a color that suits them and complements their other accessories will not only give you a little burst of joy each time you look at them during your walks but could also be a nice way to demonstrate to others that you love your pet enough to get accessories that emphasize their cuteness.
As such, if your pooch could use a new collar, you should consider buying them a waterproof one in a color that complements the hue of both their fur and their leash. If for example, they have a purple leash and black fur, then a pink waterproof dog collar could be a good choice; pink usually looks good with purple and will look particularly bright and striking against your pet's all-black coat.
The collar must be waterproof because if it isn't, it will get saturated anytime your pet takes a stroll in the rain and cause discomfort. Furthermore, when water drenches fabric that isn't waterproof, it will often make it look darker than it is until the fabric dries out. As such, if don't want the new collar to turn a dark shade of pink each time your dog wears it in the rain or the pool, you should ensure that it is waterproof.
2. Consider buying them a raincoat if they dislike walking in the rain
Many dogs hate walking in the rain and will either do so in a sulky manner or will point-blank refuse to go outside in these conditions. If your dog is like this, you should purchase them a raincoat. When they wear this piece of clothing, raindrops will roll off it instead of soaking into their fur. This will then mean that they won't have to endure walking around with a chilly and damp fur coat.
If you decide to buy the raincoat, make sure it's breathable (as if it rains on a humid, warm day, wearing this coat could make your dog overheat). You must also check that it is not too snug, as if your pet's movements are restricted by the raincoat or if it squeezes their ribs or stomach, they might come to dislike wearing it and may have a tantrum when you try to put it on them.
